Karol developed the Work-Life special feature for five years with corporate sponsors and in partnership with the professional association the Alliance for Work-Life Progress/WorldatWork.

Karol Rose has been in the forefront of the work-life effectiveness and flexible work field for over 30 years. She is the author of six books written specifically to help employers create a more agile workforce and workplace so that employees can be productive and also 'have a life.' Her latest book, The Agile Workforce and Workplace:  Flex Primer for the New Future of Work, was published by Working Mother Media.

 

Karol created KLR & Associates to help high-performing individuals achieve the personal work-life flexibility they desire so they can be more successful in their professional roles and in their lives.

 

Karol is also a Principal in FlexPaths (www.flexpaths.com) which provides on- and off-line tools and resources that help organizations implement and support agile work initiatives designed to meet the needs of both employers and employees so they can manage and work more flexibly.

 

As Strategic Advisor to Bentley University’s Center for Women and Business, Karol identified opportunities to enhance the organization’s mission of providing real solutions so women could achieve success in both their work and personal lives.

 

Karol consults with organizational leaders to address culture changes needed to improve work-life effectiveness and create a more agile workforce and work environment. She has worked with many Fortune 500 companies in the U.S. and in other countries, developing and implementing flexibility and work-life effectiveness strategies, designing and deploying assessment tools and manager training; conducting employee workshops; creating innovative child care programs (including back-up emergency care); designing and conducting research projects; and supporting and enhancing organizational change efforts that achieve bottom line results.

 

She is the former Director of Training and Work-Life Initiatives at TimeWarner; a Partner and Work-Life Practice Leader at PricewaterhouseCoopers; and Editorial Consultant for FORTUNE magazine's annual Work-Life and Human Capital special features. She was a chapter head of the International Women’s Forum, and was on the Board of the Child Care Action Campaign.

 

Karol has an MA in Early Childhood Education and MEd in Special Education. She taught for a number of universities, including Pace University, NYU and Brooklyn College. She has five children/step children and five grandchildren, and lives and works on Martha's Vineyard.
